Android 13 head unit no tethering

I sent back my android 12 headunit, and upgraded to the android 13 one. However, the USB tethering no longer works. Does anyone else with an Android 13 unit work? Wifi tether doesn't work either, but I've never had good luck with any android unit and using a hotspot over wifi. USB tethering way better.
