I just bought the new radio for 2016 and up Nissan Titan and having trouble getting the Android auto to play through the USB cable as well as connecting the Apple carplay what do I need to do

I had a similar issue, not sure if it is the same or not.

Originally after installation, I had connected the factory usb port to the usb cable coming off the radio. Doing this, the head unit would not connect to my phone no matter how hard I tried. When I plugged my phone directly to the cable coming off the radio, things instantly connected.
