PX6 Android 10.4  Lexus GX470  Questions.....

1. How do you get the DVD to show on the Android Radio. There's a message that says that the Video is disabled for my safety. What's the purpose of the DVD if you cannot watch the video even when parked?

2. My system came with a USB cable that has 2 different USB ports. What's the difference in the 2 USB ports?

3. I purchased the wireless OBD. I cannot get the OBD to connect to my Android.

4. This Radio is supposed to come with built-in CarPlay. Once setup should the Apple or Android phones automatically connect, or do I need to do something else?

I'm hoping that these are simple fixes.

Thanks

Coopers Dad

1. I am not sure if its supported. Maybe watch this video to see?

2. Nothing other than I think one is used for software/firmware upgrades/updates to the radio

3. Can you share a link to what you have please?

4. So I'm not entirely sure, maybe someone can help. On the older units you needed hotspot but I don't think its needed for Car Play.

Dear Coopers Dad,

I try to answer your questions:

Two USB slots:

One is regular, normal USB 2.0. I tried use this output to connect USB switch with 2-3 slots. Works well (I can see 2-3 pendrives) in File Manager.
The second USB is On-The-Go = OTG (prepared for bulky transfer of data, used for EasyConnection for CarPlay!). For On-To-Go you can connect even 1TB SSD disc.

CarPlay: there are some settings in UserSettings which can help you configure CarPlay (it means, how the "tesla panel" will behave). CarPlay needs ZLINK apk. I hope you have it. Icon for ZLINK is YOU need connect iPhone to the USB "On-The-Go" (OTG). If you connect USB switch to the socket USB OTG, the CarPlay won't work properly (in my case CarPlay stopped working).

DVD - plc check your settings. If you have activated in User Settings function "Brake Detect" = ON, pls activate OFF, you will allow the DVD player to show movies. Another option is hardware solution: in the harness is one cable with label "BRAKE" which should be connected to the hand brake sensor (activated by the GROUND potential, any 12VDC+). This cable could be alternatively connected directly to the MINUS pin of the battery (instead of BRAKE sensor).

ODB - if you have wifi modul. Pls set WiFi generarted by the OBD modul as a source of data in Networrk manager. Open menu Advanced, network setting, find new network,... OR you can open adnroid menu (scroll with finger TOP egde of the screen down. Menu will be opened. Find in the left corner of the opened menu WiFi manager. That's it. OBD works. I use wifi too.

Best for you,
StavCo
