Downloaded the zip file mentioned on PAR’s FaceBook post regarding two new features for 8.1 PX6 units.  Apparently my particular PX6 model wasn’t verified for the update and now things aren’t working as expected.  Anyone reverted their unit back the firmware as it was when originally shipped?

Link I used for .zip

My unit is a newer PX6 unit with only a single button for hazard lights and no knobs/buttons anywhere else.

Please contact PAR on their official Facebook page regarding this if you haven't already. Seems very bad they advertised the update as such but wouldn't work for a unit they say would. Please report back here.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply.  I spoke to them on the phone a few days ago, had a video call to demonstrate the issue.  I’ve called back a few time and sent a few emails but no answer/return email.  It was my primary reason attempting this avenue.

...about the supported models.  In their defense there was a drop box folder containing pictures of the specific models and my model’s picture wasn’t there, just the model with the A/C buttons.  I made a bad assumption.

Update: after hours of painstaking support calls and emails we’re giving up.  RMA requested and approved.  New unit it is...

Sad really, what a waste of time over software.  I will say I learned a few things along the way like calibrating the screen and formatting the unit.

Thanks for sharing. Glad you stuck with it at least, I hope the new unit pans out.

I remember installing my unit and the painful days up all night in the garage with their shotty software on the older units. They won't update it either, they are focussing on the newer units. I can't get an AM station because of this, lol.
